Tickets flying for our first-ever Wizard Express!

A gathering of Wizards is expected at the Severn Valley Railway this summer, as we launch our first ever Wizards Express services, running on August 1st, 15th, 16th and 22nd.

Launched earlier this month, tickets for the special, private train sold so quickly that we have now added two extra dates to the two already scheduled, and we're urging those interested to book early to avoid disappointment.

Budding wizards are invited to grab their wands, get dressed to impress and head to the Railway for a magical Journey of adventure. On arrival at Kidderminster, families can collect their wax-sealed invitation to Wizard School and prepare to leave the humdrum world behind as their train departs from Platform 9 2/4 and whisks them through the enchanted Severn Valley countryside to mystical lessons of wizardry at The Engine House at Highley.  Tasty treats await on board before magicians perform spell-binding tricks along the way. Once visitors have reached their destination, the Wizard School’s finest scholars will be on hand to lead masterclasses of trickery, including Broomstick Training, Wand-Making and Greenhouse Herbology.  To round it all off, successful wizards can pick up their graduation certificates. There’ll be plenty of magical photo opportunities throughout the day, so people are advised to bring their cameras.

Wizard Express services depart from Kidderminster at 11am, 1.40pm and 4.20pm on all four dates and booking is essential. Tickets are £100 for a table of four and include; guaranteed seating on the exclusive Wizard Express from Kidderminster to Highley on a table of four; chance to take part in three magical activities, photo opportunities; chance to use your four Freedom of the Line tickets to travel along the railway throughout the day, either before or after the experience and to get back to your starting station.

Fully-grown wizards can indulge themselves with The Wizard Express Afternoon Tea, departing from Platform 9 and 2/4.

Passengers will be served a selection of every wizard’s favourite treats while they travel through the Severn Valley.  Stations and carriages will be dressed for the occasion and visitors are invited to dress to impress too.

Afternoon tea cannot be combined with The Wizard Express on the same departure and must be booked separately.
