Steam on the Road

A weekend showcasing the very best of steam on the road, and steam on the rails! 


Over the years we have seen many traction engines visit the Severn Valley Railway, and in 2018 we'll have a number of road steam vehicles parade to Kidderminster Station for a gathering.

From steamrollers, traction engines and steam wagons, to steam trains running on the Railway, take a trip back to the glory years with our summer steam rally.

Attractions include:

  • Return of Plimsoll, the road-rail Land Rover (Saturday only) running along the whole length of the line. 
Kidderminster:
  • Up to 14 full-size steam engines and miniature traction engines on display and in operation in the carpark and on the Station forecourt.
  • Display of vintage tractors.
  • Road run through Kidderminster each day at 11am and 2.45pm, culminating with a climb up the hill to Kidderminster Station.
  • Beer Festival on the concourse.
  • Miniature steam locomotives on the Coalyard Miniature Railway.
  • Live entertaintment with local band Blind Lemon at Kidderminster on Saturday evening, in association with Kidderminster Arts Festival (additional charge applies) - click here to find out more.

  • Display of Land Rovers (Saturday only).

  • Commercial vehicle and Mechanical Horse.

To qualify for  'pre-book & save' prices these tickets must be purchased at least five working days in advance of your visit. Tickets may also be purchased at the same price by calling 01562 757900 (option 1). These tickets are not available for purchase from booking offices in advance.

All pre-booked tickets are subject to a £1.75 booking fee.
These tickets include FREE admission to The Engine House, our Visitor Centre at Highley.

Blind Lemon - Evening Gig at Kidderminster

Join us at Kiddermister from 7.45pm as we rock the night away with Blind Lemon!

Pre-booking has now closed, but don't worry, tickets can be purchased on the night from Kidderminster Booking Office.

In association with Kidderminster Arts Festival, we're bringing the UK's hardest hitting covers band to the Severn Valley Railway.

Blind Lemon are a dynamic six piece covers band from Worcestershire. Playing together for nearly 25 years, the band boast a massive portfolio of classic eclectic songs and will be performing two unmissable sets on our beautiful concourse.

The Station will also be hosting a Beer & Real Ale Festival, with hot food being served too.
