Engine House Fun Days

Our Fun Days at The Engine House are the perfect place for children to let off steam!

Taking place on Wednesdays from 2nd
August to 30th August, a number of themed activities will be taking place to keep those young, and young at heart, entertained.

Normal fares apply and include admission to the Fun Days at The Engine House Visitor Centre at Highley. Our £44 Family Summer Saver ticket & Annual Family Pass is also valid!

Entry is FREE to local Highley residents living in the ''

WV16 6XX'' area, simply provide a proof of residence such as a recent utility bill or similar.

Make a stop for discovery at The Engine House throughout the Summer Holidays:

Marvel at the massive locomotives, delve into the history of Britain's railways, enjoy themed, interactive exhibitions and meet the engine that collided with a camel!

What's going on at each Fun Day. . .

Not only will we have the activities above taking place, we've got some very special additional attractions lined up for the Fun Days!

Wednesday 2nd August
:
  • Meet a Greyhound and find out about these wonderful dogs, courtesy of the Greyhounds Trust.
  • Enamelling demonstrations and firing demonstrations, courtesy of Ann Jones, with the opportunity to make your own piece of enamelled jewellery (additional charge applies).
  • Face painting and glitter tattoos.
  • Giant outdoor games (weather dependant).

Wednesday 9th August:

Wednesday 16th August:
  • Visit the RSPB stand to see first hand what is involved in protecting our wildlife.
  • Meet the owls from a local owl rescue centre.
  • Face painting and glitter tattoos.
  • Giant outdoor games (weather dependant).

Wednesday 23rd August:
  • Meet the Bees! Our resident bee-keeper will be bringing along a number of hives and bees, to tell you the amazing story of how honey is made. Plus, you'll be able to purchase a jar of honey!
  • Experience the wonderful world of Hedgehogs, as a number of the rescued little critters make appearances throughout the day.
  • Face painting and glitter tattoos.
  • Giant outdoor games (weather dependant).
Wednesday 30th August:
  • Pottery painting with The Melting Pot of Bewdley (small additional charge applies)

    To qualify for  'pre-book & save' prices these tickets must be purchased at least five working days in advance of your visit.

    *Family Summer Saver tickets available for £44 from July 22nd - September 3rd 2017. Available to pre-book from July 5th. No booking fee applies.

    These tickets are not available for purchase from booking offices in advance.
