Get ahead with Christmas shopping at the Severn Valley Railway

The Severn Valley Railway is the place to find perfect presents for the festive season at its Christmas Gift Fayre, which takes place at The Engine House Visitor Centre, Highley on the weekend of 28 and 29 October.

A range of suppliers will be at the event, offering everything from home-made jams and chutneys to stained glass, from fashion items to candles, and everything in between.

“We’ve brought together some of the most talented and enterprising local craftspeople,” said Nadia Attwell, the SVR’s assistant commercial manager. “Every one of them is passionate about creating original, quality items. It’s going to be a great opportunity to get an early start on your Christmas shopping, whilst having a wonderful day out at the railway too.”

The Christmas Gift Fayre takes place at the railway’s Engine House Visitor Centre at Highley, running from 10am to 5pm on both days, and entry is free.

Parking will be unavailable at The Engine House, but there is limited parking a short walk away at Country Park car park. However, the railway recommends the best way to get there is by heritage train. Every freedom-of-the-line ticket purchased comes with a voucher for a free return later in 2023 – terms and conditions apply.
