Singin’ on the Train

What to expect at Singin’ on the Train: our musical celebration accompanies a busy service of steam and diesel trains operating between Kidderminster and Bridgnorth. Jump on the train and travel to our stations to hear male choirs in full song. Timetable D is running on this day, with diesel locomotives operating due the fire risk level during the prolonged dry spell. Trains operate between Kidderminster and Bridgnorth.
Performances will take place throughout the day at Kidderminster Station, The Engine House and Bridgnorth Station, featuring the following choirs:
- Avon & Somerset Police Choir
- Blackpool Make Voice Choir
- Carlton Male Voice Choir
- Churchdown Male Voice Choir
- Gentleman Songsters
- Kidderminster Male Choir

In addition to the activities on Saturday, we have one additional choir joining us on Sunday 16 August: Severn Voices.
Alongside the singing, there’s so much to see, do and discover on a day out at the Severn Valley Railway, including FREE ENTRY to The Engine House Visitor Centre (open 10.45am – 4.30pm, last entry 4pm). Alight at Highley Station and then its just a short walk to The Engine House where you can get close to some very special locomotives, including ‘Gordon’ the blue engine, and take a peek through the windows of King George VI’s royal carriage. There’s an outdoor play area, café, gift shop and plenty to keep everyone occupied.
The trains stop at all of our intermediate stations, so you can get off to explore Bewdley, Arley, Highley and Hampton Loade. Find out more about our stations and what to do. At Kidderminster and Bridgnorth, the trains take a short break, so you can see the locomotives up close.
Choir Concert
The evening concert is FULLY BOOKED
After a day filled with music, the celebrations continue into the evening with a spectacular choir concert at Kidderminster Station from 7.00pm to 10.00pm.
Enjoy an unforgettable showcase as each choir takes to the stage, bringing their unique sound and energy to this special event. The evening will build to a truly uplifting grand finale, with all choirs joining together in one powerful, unmissable performance. Don’t miss this highlight of the day!

Important Information:
- Purchase tickets in advance and save up to 20%. Tickets can also be purchased on the day from the booking office.
- Freedom of the Line tickets offer travel all day, or there are short journey options available from each end of the line to Highley or Arley.
- Small Family tickets permit travel for one adult and up to two children. Large Family tickets permit travel for two adults and up to four children.
- The Engine House, visitor centre at Highley, is open 10.45am-4.30pm (last entry 4pm).
