The SVR’s ‘purple loco’ enters service

The Severn Valley Railway will be putting its ‘purple loco’ No 70 ‘Elizabeth II’ into service this weekend, ahead of its official renaming ceremony on 2nd June. It will haul the return trip of S2 on Saturday 14th May , leaving Bridgnorth at 12.30pm, and will be in service for the rest of the day, and all day Sunday 15th starting from Kidderminster on the first services of the day

The locomotive will not be carrying its nameplates until the official ceremony takes place at Kidderminster on 2nd June.
