Step into a world of timeless charm this winter with our Winter Warmer Specials. Settle into our beautifully restored, steam-heated LNER ‘Teak’ carriages – the very same that the legendary Flying Scotsman hauled during our grand reopening – and let the magic of the Severn Valley carry you away.
Your journey begins at Kidderminster, as a majestic historic steam locomotive hauls you through the countryside to Highley and back (you stay on the train throughout the journey). Feel the comforting warmth of steam heat, watch the winter landscapes roll past, and simply relax.
The morning train departs Kidderminster at 10.30am and returns to the station at 12.15pm. The afternoon train departs Kidderminster at 1.15pm returning at 3.00pm
Upgrade your experience and travel in style in our Observation Saloon (available 9, 10, 11 December only). Enjoy uninterrupted panoramic views of the Severn Valley Railway from the comfort of luxurious armchairs, as steam drifts past the windows and the countryside unfolds before you.
Back at Kidderminster, round off your journey in The King & Castle, our cosy station pub, where a roaring fire and a fine selection of local ales, ciders and spirits await – the perfect end to your nostalgic winter escape.

- This special service runs non-stop in both directions, and you stay on the train throughout the journey.
- Gift shops and refreshment rooms will remain closed on these days.
- Unlimited Passes and Working Member/Shareholder Vouchers are valid for standard travel, not for travel in the observation saloon.
- The observation saloon is not wheelchair accessible.
- Dogs are not permitted in the observation saloon (assistance dogs welcome).
