Where to see world-famous steam locomotive ‘Flying Scotsman’ at the Severn Valley Railway.

LNER 60103 Flying Scotsman is set to steam along the Severn Valley Railway from 25-28 July 2025, and here’s your guide to where to see it.

The best place to see Flying Scotsman is by purchasing Day Rover tickets to our Swingin’ Sixties event on 26-27 July 2025. Tickets include travel all day on our normal heritage trains and entry to our stations, as well as access to all the exciting attractions we have planned for our 60th anniversary celebrations, including live music, ferris wheel and class car displays. Pre-book your tickets in advance to save.

However, if you don’t have tickets to travel, there are plenty of places to see Flying Scotsman along the Severn Valley Railway. Kidderminster and Bridgnorth Station platforms are  restricted to ticket-holders only, but other areas of both stations are open, including the shops and cafes, as well as the live entertainment at Kidderminster during the day. Access to Northwood Halt and Country Park Halt is not advised.

Additional Notes:

We understand people are excited about seeing the famous locomotives and want to ensure you have a great day out, but do not trespass on the railway.  Our priority is the safety of the public and passengers viewing and travelling on the train. The railway is a hazardous environment and we would urge people to use safe vantage points to view and take pictures of the train, stay clear of the line and not be tempted to risk their lives and the lives of others by trespassing on the tracks. Trespassing on the tracks to view our trains is not only extremely dangerous and can result in the train’s journey being delayed, but it is an offence for which the offender risks being brought before the courts. Under no circumstance should you walk on or near the track. You must stay behind fences. If you do trespass on the railway, you run the risk of prosecution, delaying the train service and, potentially, a fatality.
