Treat Mum to a special day out this Mother’s Day at the Severn Valley Railway
Families looking for a memorable way to treat Mum this Mother’s Day will find plenty to enjoy at the Severn Valley Railway, where great food, a relaxing steam train journey and a welcoming heritage atmosphere come together perfectly.
Visitors can start their day with lunch at the Tea Room at Kidderminster Station, choosing from a delicious menu of freshly made dishes. As an extra touch for the occasion, every mum who purchases a main meal will receive a complimentary Eton Mess dessert (T&Cs apply).
After lunch, families can continue the celebration with a trip on the 2.15pm steam service for a round trip to Bridgnorth. It’s a lovely chance to sit back, enjoy time together and take in the scenic Severn Valley from the comfort of a heritage carriage. Visitors can stop off at The Engine House Visitor Centre for the Spring Gift Fayre, where local traders will be selling their finest items.
The train returns to Kidderminster at 5.30pm, leaving the evening free to unwind at the King & Castle. With a choice of real ales and a friendly atmosphere, it’s a great way to finish the day.
Lewis Maddox, visitor engagement manager at the Severn Valley Railway, said:
“Mother’s Day is all about spending quality time together, and a visit to the Severn Valley Railway makes it easy to do just that. Whether families join us for lunch, a relaxing heritage train journey, a browse at the gift fayre or a drink at the pub, it’s a lovely way to slow down and make Mum feel truly appreciated.”
